How to Write a FWC Action Plan Workshop

When: Saturday, June 14th – 9:00 to 11:00 am,

Led by experienced FWC leaders. There will be lots of time for help on your plan. Bring your laptop! For both new FWCs and established FWCs that need to update their plan to keep recognition.

Western Nevada County FREE Community Green Waste Events 2025: Mondays, May 5, 12, 19 and 26 (Memorial Day) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHAT: An opportunity for residents to dispose of landscape trimmings including trimmed branches, leaves, grass clippings, shrubs, untreated wood, and flowers. Material should not exceed 4 feet in length and should be no more than 18 inches in diameter.
WHERE: Waste Management of Nevada County, McCourtney Road Transfer Station, 14741 Wolf Mountain Road, Grass Valley.
WHEN: Mondays: April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, and May 26 (Memorial Day) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: No food waste, dirt, rock, sod, palm fronds, blackberry, poison oak, stumps, scotch broom, concrete, asphalt, plastic bags, animal waste, palm tree branches, yucca plants, ice plants (succulents), cactus, painted wood, treated wood (including railroad ties and utility poles), construction debris, and any metal fencing, wire, or metal materials.
All participants must provide a valid ID with an address within Nevada County or proof of residency. All commercial vehicles are prohibited and licensed landscape vehicles are limited to 1 trip per day and single axle trailers.

UC Cooperative Extension Forest Stewardship Workshop Series: Yuba and Nevada Counties

Description: UC Cooperative Extension's Forest Stewardship workshop is coming to Yuba and Nevada counties! Residents from the Sierra and Sierra Foothills are encouraged to join this workshop to understand and protect your forests by developing a forest management plan. Topics covered include: forest management, silviculture, fuel reduction and forest resource marketing, mapping and inventory skills, and much more. Participants who complete the workshop are eligible for a free site visit with a California Registered Professional Forester!

When Fire Helps: Scaling Prescribed Burning Across the Sierra
