Internship Program
We believe that part of what makes communities resilient in the face of wildfire risk is having a strong network of community members working together. For us, that includes a well-supported internship program. We see engaging youth as a key to building a resilient community for the future.
Internships are a great way for students and recent graduates to gain valuable work experience and build their resumes. They can also be a good way for people to explore different career options and see if a particular field is a good fit for them. Internships can be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid, and typically last for a defined period of time.
Our internships offer opportunities targeted at younger community members and students interested in fire safety, helping elderly and other community members, environmental science, and nonprofit management.
Internships may be paid or volunteer-based and will focus on areas such as:
-
Social media and public outreach.
-
Event coordination and community engagement.
-
Administrative support and data management.
Our interns will have opportunities to work with both Fire Safe Nevada County Coalition Staff, Board Members, and local Firewise Community Leaders.
