Volunteering

Collaboration is key to keeping our community safe from wildfire. Below is a list of some of the ways you can contribute. If you are interested in helping out, fill out this short intake form and we will be in touch.
Become a Mentor and share your expertise with other leaders: Have you been leading your community for a year or more? Would you be willing to share what you have learned about what works (and what doesn’t) with a newer Firewise Community leader?
Time commitment: 2-4 hours/month or more, as needed.
Internships for youth: Are you a responsible teen who is interested in learning how a nonprofit runs? We could use all sorts of help, and it will look great on your college application.
Time commitment: 3 hours/week.
Defensible space/home hardening advisor: Are you familiar with home hardening and defensible space practices? Perhaps you are a current, former, or aspiring defensible space advisor? Help others identify and prioritize ways to keep their homes safe from wildfire.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours/month or more, as needed.
Event promotion: Post announcements on social media and share with partner organizations, or pass out fliers, up to you!
Time commitment: 2 hours/month.
Office assistance: Do you love data entry, responding to email, organizing paperwork, or establishing processes and procedures? We need YOU! Time commitment: 3 hours/week.
Write newsletter articles: Are you a writer? Or an editor who can wrangle AI to do the writing for you? We could use your journalist sensibilities. Time commitment: 5 hours/month.
Graphic design: Can you help us make things look nice by creating fliers or graphics? We need your keen design eye!
Time commitment: 2 hours/month or less.
Lead or help with community workshops (ie pile burning safety): Would you like to learn how to do something new while helping others by assisting with a workshop? Or, would you like to offer your expertise and lead a workshop? We need your help!
Time commitment: 3 hours/month or less, depending on interest.
